Embedding open, rigorous, and inclusive scholarship in research and education.
FORRT is committed to building an inclusive, collaborative community where everyone can participate. We seek to treat one another with dignity and respect, fostering civil discourse grounded in critical thinking, reasoned argument, shared knowledge, and verifiable evidence. We recognise we will not always get this right; when mistakes occur, we expect members to listen, take responsibility, and learn from their impact.
We value diversity across age, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, language, national origin, neurodiversity, profession, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, technical ability, and other aspects of identity and experience. Discrimination, harassment, and exclusion have no place here.
We also champion epistemological and methodological pluralism. Welcoming diverse approaches to knowledge strengthens Open Scholarship. It broadens the questions we ask, helps challenge assumptions, and contributes to more open, rigorous, inclusive, and equitable higher education.
We are comprised of 1,500+ Slack members, 647 contributors across 100+ projects, 1,200+ newsletter subscribers, and 2,000+ followers on Bluesky (1,000+ on LinkedIn)—and below you find the profiles of our community members.
